Anne Pfeffer Gjengedal

Artistic practice

I am an experienced craft artist who has worked for many years with chrocheted metal wire, wax and paperbased objects. My practice revolves around nature`s balance, endagered species and the ways human activity disturbs slow natural processes. I create insect reliefs in reused specimen boxes and coral- and stone-inspired forms that point to the loss of habitats in the sea and on land.The materials carry both strength and fragility, inviting viewers to experience nature as something we are in direct physical connection with, rather than just a backdrop.
